HOPE 101
Ano ba ang deceased-donor kidney transplant?
Sa deceased-donor transplantation, ang kidney ay nagmumula sa isang deceased organ donor pagkatapos ng required medical, ethical at legal donation process. Hindi ito kapareho ng living donor transplant, kung saan ang donor ay isang buhay na taong dumadaan sa sariling evaluation at informed-consent process.
Current DOH educational material describes the deceased-donation pathway as involving donor identification, brain-death confirmation, informed family consent, donor-recipient matching and transplantation. A possible donor call can be exciting and stressful. Sundin ang eksaktong instruction ng transplant team tungkol sa pagkain/inom, dialysis, pagpunta sa hospital at mga dadalhin. Huwag gumawa ng sarili mong medication changes. Kahit natawagan ka na, maaaring kailangan pa ng crossmatch, donor assessment at final recipient evaluation bago malaman kung matutuloy ang transplant.

Ano ang HOPE?
Ang Human Organ Preservation Effort (HOPE) ay isang programang matagal nang bahagi ng NKTI organ-donation and transplantation work. Sa public NKTI materials, HOPE is identified among the Institute's continuing healthcare programs. Pareho ba ang living donor at deceased donor transplant?

Kapag nasa waiting list na, guaranteed na ba ang transplant?
Hindi. Ang pagiging listed o eligible ay hindi garantiya na may organ na agad o na matutuloy ang transplant. Kailangan pa ring magkaroon ng suitable deceased donor, matching, final medical assessment at transplant-team decision.
Ano ang PRA?
PRA is one of the transplant immunology tests used to understand sensitization or antibodies that may affect donor compatibility. Ang interpretation at testing schedule ay dapat manggaling sa transplant team dahil nakadepende ito sa iyong transplant history at clinical situation.
Bakit may blood serum storage?
Stored serum samples can be important for transplant compatibility work. Kung ikaw ay enlisted, itanong sa transplant coordinator kung kailan dapat magbigay ng bagong sample at kung saan ito ipapadala o dadalhin.
Ano ang mangyayari kapag may possible kidney match?
